Bunker Labs Teams Up with Action Zone to Highlight Local Veteran-Owned Businesses

TAMPA - Bunker Labs will land in Tampa, Florida on Tuesday, March 26th and is partnering with Action Zone to host a Bunker Brews event at veteran run, Bad Monkey in Ybor City. Bunker Brews are designed to connect veterans in business, empower the local entrepreneurial ecosystem and foster growth, knowledge and success.

The Tampa Bunker Brews will lay the foundation for monthly meet-ups where the Bunker Labs entrepreneur community — veterans, military spouses, and civilians alike can network with subject matter experts, investors, thought leaders, and more — creating a robust environment for growth and development. You can register for the Bunker Brews event for free at EventBrite.

“Tampa has all of the ingredients to make it one of the top veteran entrepreneur communities in the country.” Said Dean Bundschu, Bunker Labs Atlantic Regional Director. “We are excited to partner with organizations like Action Zone, Veterans Florida and the many other great local veteran non-profits and entrepreneurial support organizations who have laid the groundwork for us to collaborate in support of the veteran business community.”

This event’s topic will be “From Special Forces to Entrepreneurship” and will feature Scott Neil who is one of the founders of American Freedom Distillery. Scott is a local entrepreneur who was part of the Special Forces team featured in the movie “12 Strong”. Scott will share how the skills gained while serving has helped him and his Veteran business partners build and launch American Freedom Distillery. Scott will also share his thoughts on the value of Veteran-centric entrepreneurial support organizations and his experience with the Veterans Florida Entrepreneurship Program now offered by Action Zone.

“Helping to bring Bunker Labs to Tampa has been an Action Zone goal since the inception of the organization,” says Rosie Lee, Action Zone Executive Director. “We strive, as an organization and each of us personally, to bring together the best of the best in entrepreneurial support for our Veterans and our community entrepreneurs. This partnership will allow both organizations to leverage their networks and draw support to help our Veterans transition from their military mindset and then transform from the service member to the entrepreneur giving them the tools to ensure economic success post service.”

Bunker Labs has plans to expand into all fifty states over the next three years. As part of the expansion, Bunker Labs will look to officially launch a new Chapter in Tampa this fall. To prepare for the launch will we will continue to run a series of Bunker Brews to build momentum within the veteran community. National partners like JPMorgan Chase & Co. and USAA are helping to fund the growth while Bunker Labs continues to build support through local partners within the greater Tampa community.
